Ayurveda treatment and medicines, which normally include massage, and often a special diet, is a 3000 year old holistic medical system, used widely within India. Ayurvedic clinics and massage centres are now to be found in many places, particularly in holiday destinations.

Ayurvedic theory, unlike western medical practices where a disease or problem is diagnosed, and then treated, looks at the “whole patient” as a symbol of imbalance. It is the imbalance that is treated, not the disease.
